Re: Tracking opens in PDFs, the analytics program I know of is: docmetrics: http://www.docmetrics.com/.

But I'm not sure if you'd consider this one a solution given your podcast comments about certain non-performers. Theoretically it's supposed to be a way to track your PDF files and who opens/reads them...and even what they read inside your documents.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this, especially if you've heard of/vetted other solutions.

FROM YES PREP...Hey guys... thanks so much for the nomination! I continue to listen to the show with excitement and am super excited that you have thrown us a bone for the nomination. We know we still have so far to go. We are going to write up a blog post about our nomination and why we listen to the show. Many would probably not think it an intuitive pairing being that we are a public school, but your expertise helps us reach more people to share our success and showwhats possible in public education. Mind throwing us an inbound link? We will reciprocate on our blog at http://www.yesprep.org/theanswer.

Very cool you guys are doing this... Seeing GrayMatter Minute on your list was like a caffeine shot in the arm.
Blogging, podcasting, staying atop of the latest tools and technology .... it's all a lot of work and it's really nice of you guys to tip your hats...or your mugs, in this case.
(Though I think Bob Knorpp may be right...how can anyone compete against French Maid TV?)
Appreciate the second look,
-Renee Lemley
(Pretty sure I have @sharonmostyn to thank for the nomination -- thanks for the support, Sharon.)

Hmmm, that would be cheaper and easier but I don't know of any other legitimate awards that have gone paperless, and part of the fun is the quest for the lucite block...

LOL, well I'm not surprised that you've got a great assessment of the situation. Yes, with a lot of good entries the odds are we won't be granting any awards to other blogs or podcasts... See you in May!
