    About the duplicate content in different languages, and your comment on users not visiting the (more)information on the main site:

    There are great examples of how to do this (Google & Dell among others)…
    You create some duplicate content in the sublanguage, and use the same content layout & content structure. For pages where data has not yet been translated show that info in english (main language).

    Btw: Google uses subdomains: Example: http://www.google.com/intl/sv/analytics/
